Two on 37Q

Two more of Norfolk Southern's Heritage fleet passed through Jonesborough last week, oddly, both on 37Q, both leading.

Up first was the 1074 Delaware Lackawanna on March 10th. I thought shooting near Yee Haw Brewing in downtown JC would be finally be cool because most of the construction equipment had been removed and the row of cherry trees along the right of way were in bloom. But unfortunately there were still several orange barrels and stacks of stuff near Yee Haw, and the angles available when trying to get the blooming trees in the frame just weren't that compelling. So I ended up with this one:

We then tried to outrun the train to Sand Valley but traffic wasn't going to allow that to happen, but, then, we hear that it has to stop at Hexpol (everyone around here knows it as Burton Rubber), so we cut across before Sand Valley road and caught it parked and took this:

Next up was the 8114 Original Norfolk Southern on March 15. After the relative fail of downtown JC and the success of shooting at Hexpol, we headed straight there to shoot. The difference this time is there were no clouds and I was shooting when the sun was almost directly overhead - making it really contrasty - so the results were a bit underwhelming:
